Nyark Music proudly returns with another formidable release from two of the UK underground’s most unwavering creative forces, Wild Samson and Hazz. Reuniting for their latest collaborative endeavour, the duo present ‘The Benchmark’, a meticulously crafted six-track EP produced in its entirety by David Linhoff. This project offers a commanding and immersive exploration of refined lyricism, artistic synergy, and sonic sophistication. Both MCs deliver with heightened precision, weaving incisive bars, vivid imagery, and contemplative depth that reaffirm their status as essential voices within the contemporary UK hip-hop sphere. From its opening moments, ‘The Benchmark’ stands as a work of deliberate craftsmanship... rich in texture, uncompromising in tone, and steeped in the atmospheric grit and elevated artistry that have become synonymous with the Nyark sound. With its intricate structural design and evocative emotional range, the EP captures the essence of underground hip-hop in its most dignified and authentic form.

The project opens with the commanding ‘Dangerous’, immediately establishing a dramatic tone before transitioning into ‘All The Time’, featuring rising Nyark talent Lowko, who is currently preparing his debut EP. Momentum builds further with the title track ‘The Benchmark’, elevated by the precision turntablism of Nyark’s in-house DJ Amo, whose technical flourishes add a distinguished layer of classic craftsmanship. That energy continues on ‘Representin’, featuring another stellar performance from DJ Amo. The reflective and elegantly constructed ‘On My Mind’, featuring UK veteran LATE delivers emotional gravity and lyrical introspection. The EP concludes with ‘Loopy’, a spirited and cohesive collaboration with Lowko that provides a compelling final statement. Each composition within ‘The Benchmark’ is executed with intention, cohesion, and artistic clarity, forming a unified body of work that rewards attentive listening. More than a collaboration, this EP stands as a refined exhibition of lyrical excellence, creative focus, and visionary production, further cementing Wild Samson and Hazz as two of the most influential architects shaping the next chapter of UK underground hip-hop.
