Easter Sunday The Film
This film was made for non-profit and is not being sold or distributed anywhere via dvd nor electronic download. This film was film festival submitted and accepted by some, as well as denied by some. For those who dedicated their time, energy, and talent to put this film together, this film stands only as a testament of their persistent, their determination, their selflessness, and belief in the overall objective of this story which is to possibly teach a lesson to save a life. Despite the resistance this film has garnered from the very few and little wishing to not have the story seen nor told, GOD takes care of all...this is the reason why this film has taken on a life of its own. Watch it and see the film that some don't want you to see.
Easter Sunday is the feature directorial debut from underground Hip-Hop artist, writer, director, and videographer R.H.Bless . Set in Brooklyn, the film is narrated by 17 year old David(Jaray Hunter), a high school student and aspiring artist from the Red Hook Houses. He sets off on an annual Easter hang out in Coney Island along with friends, Michael(Fritzely Francois), Matthew(Roberto Zuniga ), Andre'(Dan Belizaire ), and cousin, Ainsley(Rydell Rollins). After a night of fun, the evening takes an unexpected and dramatic turn when the guys find themselves caught up in the midst of a subway shooting with tragic results. Based on a true life event, the film centers on the plague of guns and youth violence in the city's urban neighborhoods, where African American and Hispanic male lives take the greatest toll.
