On this release LATE mixes social commentary and the usual wordplay and metaphors with laid back boom bap beats.

A few weeks ago we heard the sad news that Elite Sound International founder Robert 'BigBob' Pattison had passed.
Bob was a renowned and respected producer who worked with artists such as Raf Almighty (Dirt Platoon), Daddie Notch (Bankai Fam), Sizzla Kamonji, Cutty Ranks, Solomon Childs, Ruste Juxx, Nelson Dialect, and many many more.
His boom bap production brought the best out of MCs and created many classic sounding albums. Elite Sound International, Bigbob's production and record label, will be entering a period of transition to ensure his legacy will continue to live on.
Cuban Pete worked with Bob over the last few years, mainly providing artwork for artists Bob was producing. In the last few months they started working on an as yet unnamed album together. Little did Pete know that the first single from that project would be in tribute to the late producer and friend.

Back outside with the first single from his upcoming summer release "Vibes & Vibrations", FRD FRLN steps in with the J.Patz produced "Stay Dangerous".
The eerie bass driven backdrop sets the tone as FRD puts forth the potential mantra for 2023. Once again teaming up with SektionRed's Oliver Whitehouse for the visual, the video and single serve as a well-timed present and lead in for his July 2023 release on the horizon.

The single "Just In Case" in collaboration with DJ C.S.P. on the wheels of steel, for which Ren Thomas was recruited. Ren Thomas is known for his aggressive presence, lyricism, wit and ability to adapt to different styles of music.
In 2013, Ren won the EOW Challenge of Champions and represented the US in England where he placed 3rd. In 2015, Ren signed with Philadelphia-based label Sensi Starr Records and released a plethora of material that resulted in the critically acclaimed album "I Been Nice" in 2017, with the title track produced by Pete Rock. In 2017, he performed on Sway In The Morning and was voted "Top 10" of the year.
"Just In Case" features an uncompromising beat, punchy lyrics and DJ C.S.P.'s spectacular cuts that compliment the beat perfectly.
Currently, Roccwell is about to finalize the "Chocolate Bars" EP with upcoming female MC/activist/writer Emma Lee M.C. (Bronx/NY), which will also feature Masta Ace and Bahamadia. The EP will be released digitally and on vinyl. Stay tuned for more info.

One of the many perks of being a veteran of the rap game is the robust Rolodex that inevitably comes with that. Just ask boom-bap producer Amadeus360, who’s worked with everyone from Kool G Rap to Paul Wall since coming up in the ’90s under the mentorship of Kid Capri.
Now, after a pair of pandemic-era collaborative LPs alongside East Coast emcees Termanology and Ruste Juxx, the beatmaker is cashing in on some favors with his massive new record The MPC Jedi, an 18-track collection stuffed with endless guest verses.
Over the course of an hour, a dizzying number of familiar voices from iconic ’90s boom-bap and hardcore hip-hop releases take the mic, including Masta Ace, M.O.P. and Ras Kass, as well as members of Black Moon, Heltah Skeltah, and Onyx—all of whom feel perfectly at home spitting over an Amadeus360 beat.
Meanwhile, up-and-coming emcee Lil Dee holds things down for the younger generation of rappers picking up the torch, pairing perfectly with fellow Coney Islander Nems on the track “Set It Off” with both vocalists feeling equally synced to the record’s production.
The result is quite an earful, and the type of record that necessitates countless re-listens to process not only the dense lyricism but also the intricacies of the beats that back it.
With the project out now also comes a new video on the album track "How The Block Sound" featuring M.O.P. and Ras Kass.
Following on the heels of “Take Me To Your Leader”, Maine-based producer Odd Pilot enlists several MC’s for the 2nd single off his upcoming album, “Cabin Fever 2”. “Here” features Whichcraft, Drastic Measurez, and JFliz trading bars over another left-of-field soundscape. Immediately the contrast between the airy vocals over a chunky metal riff sets the tone as Jason Famous Beats provides the cuts as the beat drops.
Odd Pilot hand-picks his MC’s from around the country specifically for the content and cadence they bring to the table. JFliz from Massachusetts, Drastic Measurez from Ohio, and Whichcraft from New York combine on “Here” to drop punch-line heavy battle rhymes. The vocals move through the track and transition from Whichcraft’s hyperactive barrage of heavy metal references - to JFliz’s focused - albeit aggressive climax - and into the cool- tempered verse from Drastic Measures to bring it all home. All of the sounds on this single - and the entire “Cabin Fever 2” album are produced, mixed, and mastered by the Captain himself. Once again, Vince Fontaine interpreted the cover art masterfully - tying all the pieces of the puzzle into a singular artistic vision.
Although these singles aren’t available on the usual streaming platforms yet, they can be acquired exclusively on Bandcamp. And though there is a certain irony in the title, make no mistake. The Odd Pilot and his hand-picked assassins are most definitely "Here".
