Smif-N-Wessun ft. DJ Total Eclipse "BKLYN" (prod. by Ran-Dee)
Together with fellow Brooklynites DJ Total Eclipse (X-ecutioners) on the cuts and Ran-Dee (Joint Adventure) on the beats, the New York natives come together to deliver a hard hitting 90’s Boom Bap throwback that transports you to the last car on a dirty, grimey subway car, that drops you straight to the rugged streets of Kings County. From Brownsville to Bed Stuy, all the way to Coney Island and Canarsie, and everywhere in between, this track draws inspiration from all the best and worst parts of what makes BK the iconic destination it is. The people. The history. The food. The sounds, smells, hardship, pain, beauty and culture.
Smif-N-Wessun uses them all to help paint a masterpiece upon the canvas created by Ran-Dee’s production. World champion turntablist, DJ Total Eclipse, adds the finishing touches and eventually drops us right on the blocks of Bed Stuy where Biggie Smalls honed his craft.
The single is complemented by a dope animated video created by rising star, Haus Riot, who has recently worked with the likes of Ill Bill, Onyx, Masta Ace, Snowgoons & more. Throughout the video you’ll catch props given to a small handful of the Hip Hop icons who came outta Brooklyn.
Chillowproductions & Dj Grazzhoppa - Moving Targets
On Friday july 14th, the 3th single “OUT OF LOVE” drops. Moving Targets pretty much speaks for itself. For this single, the duo set their scopes on Brooklyn femcee Nejma Nefertiti. While she's aiming for you!
Both knew a bunch of rap veterans from New York / New Jersey that got excited. Doing a project like this over the internet was a 'no go' due Chillow his principle: 'no studio time together = no music together'. So the duo created a stock of music and demo's in Belgium for the go. With barely 800 euros in his bankaccount, Chillow decided to travel to New York and stayed there for 2 to 3 months.
When the money ran out, he had to come up with an idea to get some bread. Through his social media, he offered budget photography and videography for "New York" rappers. A lot of his friends and rappers offered a place to stay. In this way he could continue the journey in search of interested artists. When he returned to Belgium, the duo finished the production and mix together. They teamed up with graphic designer/record collector Tom De Geeter (Crate Records Kortrijk) for the 'artwork' and with DVL - photographer and member of Afterhours. Both are hip-hop fanatics. Everything seemed to work out smoothly, all pieces fell right into place. It just took a while to finance the entire project.

Underground Hip Hop artists Status The Marlboro Man and Krookid Hooks have teamed up with New York Emcee Ruste Juxx to create one of 2023's best Hip Hop tracks.
The darkly produced 'Lion's Den' is reminiscent of a time when street anthems and conscious Hip Hop were one in the same. The Status produced beat captures the underground spirit while its simplicity and eerie melody reminds listeners of a 70s movie soundtrack.

Lex The Hex Master & Jake Palumbo - Swing The Katana
SpaceLAB Recordings in association with Shadow Army Productions presents the release of “Swing The Katana” – the 2nd single from the upcoming collaborative LP Fire & Lead from Lex The Hex Master & Jake Palumbo – arriving on all streaming services July 7th via SpaceLAB Recordings & Soulspazm Records, along with a music video directed by Moe Dutches.
The song wastes no time from the opening piano keys, with producer Jake Palumbo stepping from behind the boards to rhyme, declaring he “don’t associate with any bottom-feeding shellfish” & delivering the scathing, sardonic bars he’s become synonymous with. Lex The Hex Master anchors the song with a trademark sing-songy chorus before dropping his own apocalyptic 16 bars, welcoming listeners to his multiverse of dark imagery & morbid humor.
The Fire & Lead album is a collaborative effort intended to bridge gaps of sorts – Lex The Hex Master has made a name for himself in the horrorcore end of the hip-hop spectrum, having been signed to Detroit-based label Majik Ninja Entertainment since 2016 & touring with artists such as Twiztid, Esham & others. But being born & raised in Queens, he is a lyrical New York emcee at heart.
Jake Palumbo is commonly filed under the East Coast boom bap category, having lived in Brooklyn for half his life. But his Tennessee roots shine through in his Southern-fried production & vocals, whether in his solo work or producing for artists such as El Da Sensei, Ruste Juxx, Smif-N-Wessun, Royce Da 5’9” & more.
Since 2019, Lex & Jake made several guest appearances on the other’s respective albums before ultimately teaming up for the full-length Fire & Lead LP. “Swing The Katana'' follows up the successful first single “Amen”, which found Lex leading the choir in a triumphant anthem that sounds like an old-fashioned church revival occurring during the book of Revelations.

Cuban Pete and BoFaat - The Year Of THe Rabbit

"Tough Love” is a 2-part narrative. The first, is auto-biographical. The second is a fictionalization based on on actual events. In both, the message is clear. Domestic violence is a plight on our society and we must acknowledge it before we can expect to change it. “Some people will tell you love is anything but love…”
Mo1only is the founder of SC Lofi - a collective of Carolina-based producers and rappers. He started the event purely for local artists to connect with each other and since it’s inception, has grown into a melting pot of beatmakers, hip-hop artists, videographers, designers, and all those things that seem to surround the epicenter of a movement.
sympL’s always been open about his upbringing - raised by a sergeant in the Marines in a household wrought with domestic abuse, he often turned to music and art to find peace. Through that art, he sought to end a cycle of violence - as well as find his own self-worth and purpose. Over the years, he found his power as an mc & expressed that power as a promoter, tour and production manager, and A&R.
With one of Upstate SC’s most accomplished audio engineers at the board, Phil Duckett (Philgood Music), elevates a dreary sample and breathes new life into the mix. The visuals were brought together by sympL’s long-time collaborator - Laura Amezquita of LVA Works/The Indie Side Media - who approached the song as intimately as it was conceived- without any of the spectacle.
The end of the video has a 24 hour anonymous helpline to report child abuse.
